NATURE (drzewo i woda)

Poland is a beautiful country with a very diverse nature. Even in the Northern Poland, specifically Pomeranian region where Gdańsk is, you can find various ways to spend free time in peaceful surroundings.

Besides sunbathing and collecting seashells or looking for amber you can visit a few lighthouses such as the ones in Hel, Rozewie or Ustka. It gives the unique opportunity to look at the sea from different perspective. Baltic Sea is also friendly for the lovers of a water sports – windsurfing or kitesurfing is getting more and more popular here. And of course you can always admire Polish sea and sandy landscape by simply walking in Słowiński National Park.

You will never be bored here if you like long hikes in the woods. Our region abounds in forests and lakes. You might be especially interested in visiting few of our national heritage goods such as Woliński or Drawieński National Park, or even Trójmiejski Park Krajobrazowy situated not far away from Gdańsk and Sopot. One of the most attractive place here is situated in Szymbark – it is called Dom do Góry Nogami (Upside Down House), which is literally upside down. People can come inside and experience this interesting occasion to walk on the ceiling.

For people who do not like to leave the city but still like to enjoy nature Tricity offers parks, such as Park in Oliwa, Park Nadmorski im. Ronalda Reagana, Pier in Sopot and Gdynia. You can even kayak on Motlawa River in the center of Old Town!

BALTIC SEA

Polish coastline is 440 km long. Gdańsk lies by the sea, like the remaining cities of the Tricity, Sopot and Gdynia. There are dozens of beaches with beautiful sand which attract millions of tourists each year. You can also find hundreds of related attractions such as piers, restaurants, shows (e.g. beach volleyball, open theatre and concerts), parks, bike routes and rentals.

CLEAN AIR

Thanks to close presence of the sea and its breeze, Gdańsk is mostly smog-free. The air is fresh and healthy thanks to constant recycling. It contains iodine that is important for thyroid hormones production, metabolism regulation and nerves system control. Iodine has also good impact on blood circulation and muscles.
