University of Gdansk offers the possibility to participate in the special program called VISITING PROFESSOR dedicated to faculty members employed currently as full-time professors at other HE institutions, who hold other passports than Polish and are willing to share their recent research findings with UG students.
The program is organized and co-funded by the Deans of Faculties. Each year the Rector offers 3 grants (up to 500 Euro each) for the hosting faculties to cover the costs of accommodation and/or travel. The payments are made directly by UG International Office.
Being a VISITING PROFESSOR means:
- Doing a contract for 60 contact instructional hours with students (attendance lists of every classes are required). The form of instruction may include lectures, classes, seminars, tutoring, blended learning courses etc. The fee is a standard UG professor rate per hour or if offered by the professor it can be a volunteering contract.
- Being hosted and coordinated by a specific professor from the Faculty.
- Residing in Gdansk/Sopot and engaging with the campus activities at least for a few days.
- Facilitating further cooperation of UG with their own institution
International Office offers services such as – welcome desk, administrative and logistic issues (invitations, accommodation at the campus, etc.).
The proposal for the visit is presented to the Dean first, after her/his acceptance the invite from the Rector is issued and the logistics is taken care of by the International Office.
