On 14th of June 2018 at the Faculty of Biology three universities – University of Gdansk, Gdańsk University of Technology and Medical University of Gdańsk – hosted a conference with Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (in Polish: NAWA).
The main goal of this conference was to present programs, scholarships and means of support that NAWA offers for higher education institutions.
In the beginning authorities of all hosting institutions: prof. Piotr Stepnowski, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation at the University of Gdańsk; prof. Piotr Dominiak, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation at the Gdańsk University of Technology; and prof. Tomasz Bączek, Vice-Rector for Science of the Gdańsk Medical University; greeted all the participants and briefly presented information about internationalization at their institutions.
Additionally, Ludwik Szakiel, Deputy Director for Economic Promotion of the Economic Development Department of the Marshal’s Office of the Pomeranian Province and coordinator of the Study in Pomorskie, presented activities of the Marshal’s Office in this matter.
The individual presentations started after Łukasz Wojdyga, Director of NAWA, outlined goals and mission of this agency. Speakers introduced programs such as: “Polish Returns”, personal exchanges under bilateral cooperation and mid-term doctoral students’ trips, Academic International Partnerships, Welcome to Poland or PROM.
